TCM Underground was an ambitious franchise by the network that never found its footing.  On the digital side, we were in love with these films and for a brief time dived in with some incredibly fun and original content, enabling celebrated artists to develop “Lost Scenes” for the films.  The sites were edgy and very different from the classic patina we had been given to frame most other programming sites and experiences.  The on-air host fled, TCM changed leadership, and the wind left the sails.  An attempt to reach a younger audience, the patience was never there to take leaps required that might alienate its core audience.  Nevertheless, we worked hard to balance a love and appreciation for these marginalized films and the fans that defend them.
